Subject of the research:
The MILD HOME project started its work in October 2012 with the co-funding of the European Union, in the framework of the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme. Its aim is to develop the design of a new residential building prototype with a new philosophy, investigating different scenarios for its operation and feasibility. In the project ecological and economical sustainable solutions are researched for housing and urban development. ‘MILD HOME’ was defined as a prototype of an affordable housing for the next few decades, discovering the appropriate architectural responses for the continuously changing environmental and social challenges. ‘Eco Green Village’ is a complementary system to the individual MILD HOMEs, integrating those into an almost autonomous settlement.
Our activities:
- Definition of the basic concept and the main characteristics of MILD HOME and Eco Green Village.
- Researching practical solutions in response to the country specific and local needs using a series of international architectural competition of ideas.
- Discovering and promotion of possibilities in the development of innovative products and construction solutions, by the joint of the intellectual resources and researches of South East Europe and the local supply chains.
- Develoment of the specific conditions with which the Eco Green Villages can find its place in the urban development strategies in South East Europe.
- Increase the awareness and interest of the policy makers, building companies, small- and middle enterprises concerning the investment possibilities of the MILD HOME.
- Development of a manual: Know-how of MILD HOME based Eco Green Village in South East Europe
- Support of experimental projects for the establishment of the first MILD HOME based Eco Green Villages
- Definition of the MILD HOME sustainability regulation for South East Europe
